Bike Breakfast Bike!

11th October 2010

Well i am well and truly back into the swing of things now, nearly all schools have been met and they have all got lots of great ideas for things to do this term. New schools are getting excited about their cycle to school days, more experienced schools are planning events with a bit more of a twist.

Last week saw over 70 kids cycle to Meersbrook Bank Primary School for their cycle to school day. Not only that, but it also had over 50 parents cycling with them too! They were treated to a free healthy breakfast and then later in the assembly some lucky kids won some awesome prizes in the Bike It prize draw. Not only that, but throughout the day we serviced and fixed all the bikes that were brought to the school.

The rest of the week was spent doing Dr. Bike sessions in schools, which means there are now well over 100 bikes in Sheffield that are moving around the city with a lot less squeaks and rattles, as well as being a lot safer for their riders too.

Tomorrow see’s Sharrows first cycle to school day and if the excitement in school today is antything to go on, it looks like it is gong to be a good one!
