Oh Snow!

30th November 2010

Its been a busy few weeks since the last update and was looking like a pretty busy day until this morning! While a bike is pretty versatile and a mountain bike can be pretty good fun in the snow. Slippery conditions, traffic and blizzard like conditions are not necessarily the best conditions for encouraging kids to cycle to school!

Today was going to be new Bike It school, Anns Grove first cycle to school day, but after a check of the forecast, it was decided that it might not be a great idea. The same was decided for Ballifield’s bike shelter and bike path grand opening. So yesterday was spent cancelling various related activities, free breakfasts, www.trialsdisplay.co.uk  and press releases. Ah well, better to be on the safe side and these activities will happen as soon as the weather improves!

Another great event was hosted by Sheffield Stars: with many pupils from a variety of schools enjoying the racing, which was eventually won by newcomers High Storrs.

Other activities in the past weeks have seen Meynell taking part in the mapping project and producing some excellent work. As well as Pipworth doing some bike art and crafts. Producing a selection of things, including inner tube juggling balls, bike tyre bracelets and fimo dustcaps.

Until the end of term, there is going to be quite a bit of weather watching and quite a few christmas fairs to attend.

But for now the weather is giving me a chance to catch up on paper work!
