Sheffield-Let’s Change4Life makes a difference

9th December 2010

Here is some evidence that the Sheffield Let’s Change for Life Programme is making a difference in Sheffield schools.  Here is a direct quote that I received from Fox Hill Primary School today:
“As a result of the Sheffield Let’s Change for Life Programme, we instigated two new after school clubs. The children are now offered 7 different after schools clubs, which include football and dance, along with separate girls and boys football teams. The two new clubs are Fox Hill Cubs (for KS1) and Fox Hill Foxes (for KS2). Both clubs are full, with more children asking to be able to join. 36% of children attend an after school club, with 50% of those children attending more than one type of after school club.
A survey was carried out across both Key Stages asking children’s opinions on both after school clubs and holiday clubs. The answers given showed that 35% of children go to after school club to be healthy and spend time with friends.”

Sounds like there are some very active children at Fox Hill School!  Well done to them for applying to be a Healthy School today too!
