Sheffield has the highest level of adult obesity and the lowest levels of physical activity of the eight core English Cities. Nearly 60% of the local adult population and almost one in three children in Sheffield are classified as overweight and obese. The Foresight Report (2007) predicts that, unless we take clear action, these figures will rise to almost nine in ten adults and two
thirds of children by 2050.
