Walk and Talk

Physical well-being and emotional well being are closely connected. Anything we can do to improve either one will help with the other.

Feeling down or stuck in a rut? Getting active, taking even gentle exercise or playing sport and eating healthier, can make us feel better by:

  • giving us a sense of accomplishment.
  • improving confidence and making us more comfortable with the way we look.
  • providing opportunities for enjoying time with other people.

Walk & Talk is a free, 6 week intensive programme for young people aged from 16-to-25 who would benefit from talking with a Counsellor about how they can look after their physical as well as emotional well-being

The programme will be repeated at intervals throughout 2011.

Walk & Talk involves:

  • One-on-one counselling support, which might sometimes be combined with a short walk outside.
  • The option of attending three group sessions, supported by Emotional Well-Being workers, which will include a choice of fun physical activities as well as information about healthy eating and lifestyle choices
  • A ‘Big Challenge’ walk in the countryside for everyone at the end of the programme
  • Follow up sessions for those who want some ongoing support

If you’re interested in Walk & Talk please get in touch, or pass the information on if you know someone who might benefit.
