Your School
Do you go to a healthy school? Do you get to take part in healthy cooking activities and has your school got a school garden where you can grow fruit and vegetables? If not, why not speak to your school/pupils council about starting a growing or a cookery club in your school? Staff in your school can speak to the Healthy Schools Team about accessing some funding from the Sheffield – Let’s Change4Life programme to help your school be a fantastic healthy school.
Eating well at school and taking part in exercise is really important not only for your health but also to help you learn better in school. Having a healthy breakfast and drinking lots of water helps you concentrate and feel less tired. Eating a healthy diet will also give you more energy to take part in activities and after school clubs.
We are also helping schools to improve school dinners and encourage children and young people to take a healthy lunch box to school. Think about the school meals and lunch boxes in your school, are they nice and healthy? Again why not speak to school staff or school council about it.
